Harmony
Road founder and composer, Jan Keyser, developed the first course in
1981. It has grown and been continually refined to insure student success.
It is ideal to provide the basis for more advanced musical training
as well as a lifetime of enjoyment of music. Lessons include:
Keyboard discovery and playing
Solfege* singing and ear training
Rhythm activities and movement.
Creative activities and composing |
*The
Solfege method uses the traditional do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do names for
notes. Solfege is a powerful tool for developing cognitive skills, as
well as a time-honored way to teach the relationship between notes on
the scale. Harmony Road students also learn traditional music reading
through keyboard education.
